CSUB - Romberg Nursing Restroom Remodel

Background
The California State University, Bakersfield is issuing a solicitation for the Romberg Nursing Restroom Remodel project, aimed at renovating and modernizing restroom facilities on campus. This project is part of the university's commitment to providing safe and accessible facilities in accordance with current building codes.

Work Details
The work includes the complete remodel and renovation of Men's, Women's, and Staff Restrooms covering approximately 822 square feet. Specific tasks include:
- Demolition and reconstruction of restrooms, adjoining lockers, and storage rooms;
- Modification of the existing fire alarm system;
- Redesigning areas to comply with the 2022 Edition Title 24 - California Building Code Requirements.

Period of Performance
The overall project completion period is set for 120 calendar days from the construction start date as indicated in the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at California State University, Bakersfield, specifically at the Romberg Nursing Center located at 9001 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93311.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with several requirements including:
- Being licensed in California with a B license;
- Registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) for public works projects;
- Achieving at least three percent (3%) Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation;
- Attending a mandatory pre-bid walkthrough;
- Submitting a bid proposal package that includes all required forms.

Additionally, bidders must provide documentation proving DVBE participation as outlined in the contract documents.
