CSA 64 Recoating Tanks 2A and 2B - Tank Coating Inspection Services

Background
The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works – Special Districts is seeking proposals from qualified Tank Coating inspection firms to provide professional services for coating inspection during the CSA 64 Tanks 2A and 2B Re-coating and Repair Services project.

This initiative aims to address observed issues such as rusting, delamination, and pitting within the interior coatings of the tanks, which were highlighted during routine inspections. The project also includes modifications to enhance safety features in compliance with current regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive coating inspection services including:

1. Quality assurance and coating inspection;
2. Monitoring construction progress;
3. Attending meetings with the Project Manager and Contractor;
4. Maintaining daily and monthly inspection reports;
5. Ensuring conformance with contract plans and specifications;
6. Conducting safety/structural inspections including visual weld inspections;
7. Verifying compliance with AWWA, Cal/OSHA, and SWRCB regulations;
8. Performing miscellaneous inspections during surface preparation, coating application, dry film thickness checks, holiday detection, and final cure evaluation;
9. Compiling a punch list of deficiencies with construction progress photos.

The inspector must be present on-site throughout the coating operations and maintain detailed daily reports covering weather conditions, labor, equipment used, materials delivered, surface preparation status, and any observed issues.

Period of Performance
The contract period will be for a maximum of 260 days following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at CSA 64 Shop located at 17470 Alder Street, Hesperia, CA 92345.
