Background
The City of West Sacramento is a vibrant riverfront community in Northern California with a population of approximately 53,000. The current Corporation Yard (Corpyard) site along South River Road has been designated for Waterfront Mixed-Use since the adoption of the City’s General Plan. As a result, Corpyard operations are being relocated to a new 12.42-acre site at 4300 West Capitol Avenue. The City seeks to add three additional Connex containers to support ongoing operational needs.
Work Details
The Contractor shall furnish, modify, deliver, and install three customized Connex storage containers for the City of West Sacramento. This includes:
- Two (2) 40-ft Connex containers
- One (1) 20-ft Connex container designated for hazardous materials storage.
All containers must be structurally sound, wind and watertight, and suitable for modification. Required features include:
- Lockbox/locking mechanism for cargo doors
- One lockable man door
- One roll-up door (minimum 6 ft x 8 ft) with lock
- Minimum two louvered vents (12 in. x 12 in.)
- Minimum four LED interior lights
- Interior electrical package including panel, wiring, receptacles, switches, conduit, and ventilation fans.
For the HazMat container:
- Hazardous materials containment tray/secondary containment
- Ventilation appropriate for chemical storage
- Fire rating of at least 2 hours due to limited space
- Compliance signage with high visibility NFPA 704 hazard diamonds.
Electrical work includes extending existing electrical service approximately 100 linear feet to supply power to all three containers.
Period of Performance
All work shall be completed within 180 working days from the date designated on the Notice to Proceed.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the new Corpyard site located at 4300 West Capitol Avenue, West Sacramento, CA.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a current B-General Contractor’s License issued by the State of California and must be registered with the California State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 prior to submitting a bid. The successful Bidder will also be required to furnish both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Total Bid Price.
