Background
The State of California, through the Department of General Services, is issuing a contract for the ceiling replacement project at the CDE Diagnostic Center Southern California. This project aims to enhance the facility's infrastructure and accessibility in alignment with the Department of Education's mission to provide quality educational services.

Work Details
The project includes the following tasks:

1) Removal and replacement of existing ceiling tiles down to the substructure;
2) Installation of new glue-on ceiling tiles;
3) Patching and repairing stucco ceilings where tiles are replaced;
4) Demolition and installation of new ceilings in Rooms 56 and 56A;
5) Replacement of all lighting fixtures with energy-efficient luminaries, including photocells, dimming, and switching controls;
6) Upgrading restrooms and remodeling three toilet rooms for barrier-free access;
7) Installation of new door hardware and replacement of non-compliant doorknobs with compliant hardware;
8) Replacement of existing non-fire rated doors with fire-rated compliant doors and frames;
9) Upgrading elevator accessibility;
10) Replacement of water plumbing lines with associated ceiling patch work;
11) Removal of abandoned pneumatic dampers with associated ceiling patch work;
12) Replacement of flooring in Rooms 60 and 62 with carpet tiles; and
13) Hazardous material abatement as per attached hazardous materials scope.

Period of Performance
The term for this project is set at 379 calendar days from the start date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the CDE Diagnostic Center located at 4339 State University Drive, Los Angeles, CA.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid California Contractor's License (Class B required). They must also submit a Certificate of Reported Compliance (CRC) for any fleet vehicles used in compliance with California Air Resources Board regulations. Additionally, bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid site inspection on October 1, 2025. The successful bidder must furnish payment and performance bonds equal to 100% of the contract price. Compliance with health and safety mandates is mandatory.
