Citywide Parking Operations and Management Services

Background
The City of Long Beach, through its Department of Public Works, is seeking proposals from qualified parking operations firms to manage and operate the city’s parking system. The goal is to enhance customer service, ensure safety, and maximize occupancy and revenue from the city's parking assets, which include seven parking structures and 13 lots totaling over 10,000 spaces.

This initiative aims to support the city’s economic development and improve public perception following challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide field staffing, management, and operations for the City’s parking facilities. Key responsibilities include:

- Managing daily operations of parking facilities
- Ensuring excellent customer service
- Maintaining safety standards
- Implementing effective marketing strategies
- Maximizing occupancy and revenue through sound management principles
- Overseeing the performance of maintenance contractors.

The contract does not cover maintenance of parking facilities but requires coordination with maintenance contractors. Detailed service expectations are outlined in Exhibit A of the RFP.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence in February/March 2025 and will be for a period of three years with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods, totaling a maximum of five years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within Long Beach, California, specifically at the city's seven parking structures and 13 parking lots.
