CHP Newhall Area office Sliding Gate Repair Services

Background
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area office has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for sliding gate repair services. The CHP is seeking a contractor to provide sliding gate repair services at their Newhall Area office location in Valencia, CA.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide sliding gate repair services, including:
- Removing two electronic slide gates and operators
- Welding double slide gates together to convert into a single slide gate
- Extending existing ground track
- Installing slide gate, guards, and chain
- Installing a new heavy-duty electric slide gate operator
- Rewiring accessories to the new opener
- Lubricating all points of friction
- Ensuring proper balance and function of the gate
- Testing the gate operation
- Painting the gate at the end of the project
- Work must be completed within 15 business days once the project has started.
The contractor must also provide a Certificate of Insurance and a Payment Bond if the cost exceeds $25,000.

Period of Performance
The services are to be provided during normal working hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding State holidays) on dates and times mutually agreed upon between CHP and the Contractor. The contract performance period should align with the completion timeline of 15 business days once the project starts.

All services shall be provided at the Department of California Highway Patrol Newhall Area office located at 28648 The Old Road, Valencia, CA 91355.
