*Certified SB/DVBE only* Bathroom Remodel - San Bernardino County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking to engage a contractor for a bathroom remodel project in San Bernardino County. This initiative is part of Caltrans' ongoing efforts to maintain and improve state facilities, ensuring they meet the needs of users while adhering to public works standards.

The contract is authorized under Government Code Section 14838.7, which allows for the award of contracts for construction projects valued between $5,000 and $461,000 to certified small businesses (SB) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBE).

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, supplies, parts, tools, equipment, travel, fees, permits, and incidentals required for the bathroom remodel services. The scope includes:

1. Upgrading and remodeling two restrooms.
2. Upgrading and remodeling one locker room including a shower.
3. Upgrading and remodeling one wash area including a shower.
4. Removal and legal disposal of all project remodel debris.
5. Provision of portable restroom/shower trailers for the duration of the remodel.
6. Performing unforeseen/unanticipated work as directed by Caltrans Contract Manager.

Specific tasks include:
- Stripping and coating floors with commercial-grade epoxy.
- Painting walls and ceilings with approved colors.
- Installing new restroom fixtures including partitions, toilets, sinks, showers, lighting fixtures, and lockers as per specified models.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on June 1, 2025 (estimate) or upon approval by Caltrans and will expire on May 31, 2026 (estimate). Work shall be performed during normal business hours unless otherwise specified.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Caltrans Equipment Repair Shop 8 located at 320 South Sierra Way, San Bernardino, CA 90408.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified as a Small Business (SB) or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE). They must possess a valid Class B (General Building Contractor) license issued by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) at the time of quote submission. Additionally, bidders must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). All subcontractors used must also meet these requirements.
