Background
San Diego State University (SDSU) is a leading public research university established in 1897, serving over 37,000 students annually. The university is recognized for its academic excellence and commitment to education, research, and service. The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 7076 is to solicit bids from qualified vendors to provide Campus-Wide Carpet Cleaning Services across various locations including the San Diego campus and Imperial Valley campuses.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary for carpet cleaning services as outlined in the Scope of Work. Services include:
1. **Standard Services (Scheduled)**:
- Wet/Steam Cleaning (Hot Water Extraction)
- Encapsulation Cleaning (Low-Moisture Method)
- Deodorization Services
2. **Additional Services (As-Needed)**:
- Spot and Stain Treatment
- Emergency Response Services
**Locations Covered**:
- San Diego Campus: Residential Halls and Academic/Administrative Buildings.
- Imperial Valley Brawley Campus: Academic and Administrative Buildings.
- Imperial Valley Calexico Campus: Academic and Administrative Buildings.
**Estimated Areas and Quantities**:
- Total square footage of carpet serviced at San Diego Campus is approximately 159,364 sq ft across ten residential buildings. Specific buildings include Maya Hall (7,208 sq ft), Olmeca Hall (7,188 sq ft), among others. Additional areas include library spaces, stairwells, auditoriums, classrooms, and offices at both Imperial Valley campuses.
Period of Performance
The contract term is anticipated to be for an initial period of three years with two optional extensions of two years each. Services are expected to commence on July 1, 2026.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the following locations:
- San Diego State University Main Campus located at 5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego, CA 92182;
- Brawley Campus located at 560 CA-78, Brawley, CA 92227;
- Calexico Campus located at 720 Heber Avenue, Calexico, CA 92231.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of five years of experience providing carpet cleaning services for large public or educational institutions. They must also comply with all applicable laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provide proof of any required certifications such as IICRC certification or use of Green-Certified products.
