Brine System Services in Mariposa and Amador Counties

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), under the leadership of Governor Gavin Newsom, is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #10A2800 for Brine System Services in Mariposa and Amador Counties.

The purpose of this contract is to install a new brine making system at Midpines Maintenance Station and replace an existing brine making system at Peddler Hill Maintenance Station. This initiative aligns with Caltrans' commitment to maintaining effective transportation infrastructure and ensuring operational efficiency.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, vehicles, machinery, tools, materials, parts, permits, supplies, travel, disposal/recycling of waste fees, and incidentals necessary to complete the following tasks:
1) Remove and legally dispose of the existing AccuBrine Automated Brine Maker at Peddler Hill MS.
2) Furnish and install a new AccuBatch Brine Maker or equivalent at Peddler Hill MS.
3) Furnish and install a new AccuBatch Brine Maker or equivalent at Midpines MS.

The quantities for each task are estimated as one unit each.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence following the award date estimated on June 26, 2025, with specific timelines to be adhered to as outlined in the bid requirements.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at two locations:
1) Peddler Hill Maintenance Station located at 41951 Highway 88, Pioneer, CA 95666
2) Midpines Maintenance Station located at 6610 Highway 140, Mid Pines, CA 95345.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid C-10 Electrical Contractor License and C-36 Plumbing Contractor License issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Additionally, bidders must have a current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). The total bid proposal must not exceed $461,000.00.

Bidders are encouraged to include participation from certified Small Businesses (SB), Micro Businesses (MB), or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE). A minimum of 25% of the net bid price should be subcontracted to certified SBs or MBs if not bidding as a certified SB themselves.
