Big Bus Parts - Misc
Opportunity Assistant
Description
Requested Work:
OCTA is seeking bids for the supply of various Big Bus Parts as detailed in this solicitation. The goods must be provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), an authorized dealer, or an approved reseller, subcontractor, or agent authorized by the OEM. Bidders are required to:
- Provide their best price for the requested parts
- Include warranty terms and specify the lead time for delivery
- Ensure that all freight and/or delivery costs are included in the quoted price
- State the manufacturer's name and complete the warranty section, including the start of warranty checkbox
- Identify brand name and model number for each item, as these are used to set the standard of requirement
If a bidder proposes a brand other than the one requested, it must be an OCTA-approved equal prior to bidding. The process for obtaining approved equal status requires submitting fully supported technical data attached to an Approved Equal Form. Once OCTA reviews and tests the data, and if the part is accepted as an approved equal, the bidder may use that item in future solicitations. The bidder is responsible for providing all necessary information at no cost to OCTA, and OCTA will be the sole judge regarding the equality, substitutability, and compatibility of proposed alternates or equals.
Who is Requesting:
This solicitation is issued by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA).
Background:
The purpose of this contract is to procure Big Bus Parts for OCTA's operational needs. The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with available inventory. Items identified in this solicitation may be awarded to multiple bidders based on the overall benefit to OCTA. The best warranty terms may influence the award decision.
Contract Requirements:
- Bidders must be OEMs, authorized dealers, or approved resellers/agents
- All freight and delivery costs must be included in the bid price
- Manufacturer's name, warranty details, and start of warranty must be clearly stated
- Brand name and model number must be specified for each item
- Alternate brands must be pre-approved as equals by OCTA through the approved equal process
Submission Instructions:
Bidders should provide their best price, warranty terms, and lead time. All required information, including manufacturer's name, warranty details, and brand/model numbers, must be included. If bidding an alternate brand, ensure it is pre-approved as an OCTA equal and submit all necessary technical data with the Approved Equal Form. Failure to provide complete information may render a line item non-responsive.
