Beachfront Landscape Maintenance

Background
The City of Huntington Beach is seeking experienced and qualified contractors to provide beachfront landscape maintenance services. The goal is to maintain various beachfront locations, including parks and coastal areas, ensuring they remain safe, attractive, and usable. The City emphasizes the need for contractors with proven experience in high-visibility and high-traffic environments.

Work Details
The contractor will perform a comprehensive range of landscape maintenance tasks, including:

- Routine grounds maintenance (mowing, edging, trimming, clean-up, weed removal)
- Irrigation system maintenance
- Trash removal
- Sand management
- Other related services.

Specific tasks include:

- Irrigation maintenance
- Pruning of trees, shrubs, and groundcover
- Turf maintenance
- Fertilization
- Litter control
- Weed control
- Pest control
- Mowing
- Edging
- Aerification
- Cleaning of hardscape areas.

Emergency services must be available 24/7. The contractor must ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain all necessary equipment in good condition.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base term of three years with the possibility of two one-year extensions based on satisfactory performance. Services are expected to commence on July 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various beachfront locations within the City of Huntington Beach.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must possess a valid C-27 license and a Pest Control Business License. They must also have a City of Huntington Beach Business License upon contract award. Contractors are required to provide at least three references from government agencies for similar contracts. Insurance requirements include general liability insurance with coverage of at least $1 million per occurrence and workers' compensation insurance as per California law.
