Background
The California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) is soliciting bids for backup license plate production services for its License Plate Enterprise located at Folsom State Prison in Represa, CA. The purpose of this contract is to ensure that CALPIA can meet its production demands when it cannot do so internally. This initiative aligns with CALPIA's mission to provide meaningful work opportunities for inmates while generating revenue for the state.

Work Details
The contractor will provide backup license plate production services, which includes the following specific tasks:

1. Production of custom dies for alpha and numeric fonts used in license plates.
2. Manufacturing of license plates using specified materials such as aluminum (alloys 3003-H12, 3105-H12, and 5010-H22) with a thickness of 0.030 inches and tri-chrome coating on both sides.
3. Use of reflective sheeting and inks provided by CALPIA unless otherwise authorized.
4. Plates must meet specific dimensions (6 inches high and 12 inches wide) and include features such as embossing, debossing, and proper hole placements as detailed in the solicitation documents.
5. Quality control measures must be adhered to, ensuring that all produced plates meet CALPIA's specifications and standards.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract term is two (2) years with an option to extend for an additional one (1) year, starting from December 1, 2024.

The services will be performed at Folsom State Prison in Represa, California.
