Ayala Park Shade Structure Project

Background
The Ayala Park Shade Structure Project is initiated by the Bloomington Recreation and Park District, located in Bloomington, California. The project aims to enhance the recreational facilities at Ayala Park by providing shade structures that will improve the usability and comfort of the park for visitors. The Department of Public Works - Special Districts oversees the project, ensuring that it aligns with community needs and standards.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary to complete the project. This includes:

1. Installation of eight (8) permanent shade structures:
- Six (6) 12’x12’ shade structures (Poligon brand or equivalent) with footings.
- Two (2) 16’x16’ shade structures (Poligon brand or equivalent) with footings.

2. Site improvements including:
- Grading and installation of 3” stabilized decomposed granite (Tan or California Gold) with a weed barrier beneath and a 4” concrete landscape curb perimeter barrier.
- Repairing landscape and irrigation systems.
- Removing and relocating an existing light pole.
- Minor concrete work including removal and replacement of concrete between trash and ash receptacles, installation of a 4” concrete pad (4’x6’), and relocating a grill.
- Removal and replacement of trees (15 gal.) that conflict with the shade structures/concrete.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed within 90 calendar days after the issuance of the 'Notice to Proceed'.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at Ayala Park, located at 17909 Marygold Avenue, Bloomington, CA 92316.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a California Class B Contractor’s License at the time of bid submission. All bidders must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations prior to submitting their bid and must remain registered throughout the contract duration. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on October 23, 2025, at Ayala Park; failure to attend will result in disqualification from bidding.
