Background
The City of Chula Vista is seeking competitive proposals from experienced and qualified vendors to procure and deploy an Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) camera system. The goal of this contract is to enhance public safety, support investigative operations, and improve situational awareness by enabling the automated capture and recognition of vehicle license plates at designated locations.
This system will allow authorized police personnel to identify vehicles of interest in real time and conduct historical searches of captured license plate data.
Work Details
The ALPR system must provide high levels of accuracy and reliability under various environmental and traffic conditions. It should integrate with existing systems and databases where appropriate.
Key features include secure data storage, user access controls, robust search capabilities, alert functionalities, and compliance with applicable privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection requirements. The contract will be for an initial term of three (3) years with costs paid annually, including two (2) one-year options to renew at the City's discretion.
