As-Needed Acquisition, Relocation, and Related Services

Background
The City of Long Beach, through its Department of Economic Development, is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide real property acquisition, relocation, and related services on an as-needed basis. This initiative aligns with the City’s goals to enhance economic development and manage real estate transactions effectively.

The Real Estate Bureau within the Department is responsible for overseeing these services, which include appraisals, negotiations, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Work Details
The selected firm(s) will provide a range of services including:
- Preparing appraisal letters and owner offer letters
- Compiling lists of compensable items
- Negotiating with property owners and tenants
- Processing documents for right-of-way projects
- Conducting due diligence such as environmental assessments
- Providing relocation assistance in accordance with federal and state guidelines
- Maintaining detailed records for each acquisition.

The firm will also be responsible for preparing specialty reports on valuations and providing expert testimony if needed. Services must comply with the City’s policies and applicable laws.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for a period of two years, with an option to renew for three additional one-year periods, totaling a maximum potential duration of five years.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Long Beach, California.
