Background
The South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD) is issuing this solicitation for the Aeration Blower System Improvements Project. The District's mission is to provide reliable and efficient utility services to the South Lake Tahoe area. The goal of this contract is to enhance the wastewater treatment capabilities by replacing outdated equipment and improving system controls.
Work Details
The work includes:
- Installation of a new hybrid positive displacement screw blower to replace an existing diesel engine driven blower;
- Installation of new motor control centers (MCC) in the Blower Building;
- Implementation of new aeration system controls and instrumentation;
- Installation of new aeration control valves and flow meters for Aeration Basins Nos. 1, 2, and 3;
- Installation of new motor-operated control valves for existing blower air inlets;
- Power monitoring and integration into SCADA for various existing MCCs;
- Installation of a new fire alarm control panel for the Blower Building;
- Replacement of other electrical gear throughout the plant including MCCs and a transformer;
- Underground electrical conduit and associated site work;
- HVAC and odor control improvements including heating and cooling equipment and an exhaust fan;
- Demolition work as indicated in the Contract Documents.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from August 2025 until completion, with bids due by 2:00 P.M. on August 26, 2025.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the STPUD Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 1275 Meadow Crest Drive, South Lake Tahoe, California.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid class A contractor license at the time of bid opening. Control Systems Integrators must be prequalified to bid on this project. This project is subject to prevailing wage requirements, and all contractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. Bidders must comply with California Air Resources Board regulations regarding off-road diesel vehicles.
