Background
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is issuing a contracting opportunity for Barracks Shower Replacement Services at the San Diego Unit (SDU) located at 2249 Jamacha Road, El Cajon, CA 92019.

The goal of this contract is to replace existing barracks showers to ensure proper facilities for personnel. Only California Certified Small Businesses are eligible to submit bids for this project.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees necessary to replace seven existing fiberglass shower units with new stainless steel shower pans and wall panels.

The scope of work includes:
- Removing existing fiberglass shower units and associated debris;
- Disconnecting plumbing connections;
- Protecting adjacent areas during demolition;
- Installing new commercial-grade shower valve assemblies;
- Connecting plumbing to existing water supply and drain lines;
- Pressure testing new plumbing connections;
- Installing new stainless steel shower pans with proper slope;
- Installing new stainless steel wall panels;
- Caulking and sealing edges with mildew-resistant sealant;
- Repairing any drywall damage;
- Priming and painting affected wall surfaces;
- Ensuring operational stainless steel shower units are installed with matching valve trim;
- Restoring the work area to functional condition.

CAL FIRE will provide construction water and electrical sources during working hours.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on August 1, 2025, or upon approval by the California Department of General Services (DGS), whichever is later. The contract will expire on July 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at 2249 Jamacha Road, El Cajon, CA 92019.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be California Certified Small Businesses. They must submit a valid B – General Contractor license issued by the California State Licensing Board (CSLB), proof of valid registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), and complete various forms including the Payee Data Information form (STD 204), Contractor Certification Clauses form (CCC 04/2017), Bidder Declaration Form (GSPD-05-105), and others as specified in the solicitation documents.
