25RS0006 - Medical Waste Removal Services *SB ONLY

Background
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking quotes from certified California Small Businesses (SB) and Micro Businesses (MB) for Medical Waste Removal Services. The goal of this solicitation is to ensure the safe and compliant disposal of medical waste generated at the Veterans Home located in Redding, CA. This contract aims to support CalVet's mission of providing quality care to veterans by maintaining a safe environment through proper waste management.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive medical waste pick-up and disposal services at the Veterans Home, including:

1. All labor, materials, staff, transportation, licenses, permits, and any other necessary expenses for medical waste removal.
2. Scheduled pick-ups of medical waste twice a month, ensuring no more than 14 days lapse for biohazardous waste and up to 60 days for RCRA waste.
3. Emergency unscheduled pick-ups within 24 hours of notification.
4. Provision of serviceable containers and bags compliant with the Medical Waste Management Act (MWMA).
5. Delivery of supplies to the Home's warehouse with proper documentation.
6. Compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and CalVet policies regarding medical waste handling and disposal.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence on July 1, 2025, or upon approval, whichever is later, and will continue through June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Veterans Home located at 3400 Knighton Road, Redding, CA 96002.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified as Small Businesses or Micro Businesses by the Department of General Services. Contractors must hold registration with the California Department of Public Health as a Registered Hazardous Waste Hauler and provide evidence prior to service commencement. All licenses and permits must be current throughout the contract term.
