Background
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking quotes for Bed Bug Treatment Services specifically from California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) certified by the Department of General Services. The goal of this solicitation is to ensure effective pest control services are provided to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents at the Veterans Home of California in Chula Vista.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive bed bug treatment services, including:

1. Inspection and detection services for bed bugs.
2. Treatment processes using heat with chemical residual or chemical only.
3. Follow-up inspections included at no additional cost.
4. Treatment of resident and common rooms within 1 to 10 days after detection.
5. Canine inspections for bed bug detection, with reports provided to CalVet Contract Manager.
6. Monthly training sessions for CalVet staff on bed bug identification and treatment protocols.
7. Compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding pest control.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence on July 1, 2025, or upon approval, whichever is later, and will continue through June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Veterans Home of California located at 700 East Naples Court, Chula Vista, CA 91911.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified as Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) by the Department of General Services and must provide proof of required training for service technicians. Additionally, contractors must possess valid licenses from the Structural Pest Control Board and the Department of Pesticide Regulations.
