25-023 Mid-Day Janitorial Services

Background
The California State Transportation Agency, under the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), is seeking bids for Mid-Day Janitorial Services at the San Ysidro DMV Field Office. The purpose of this contract is to ensure cleanliness and hygiene within the DMV facilities, aligning with the agency's mission to provide quality service to the public. The current contractor is Varsobia Building Maintenance, Inc., with a monthly cost of $1,677.60.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to perform mid-day janitorial services at the San Ysidro DMV field office located at 6111 Business Center Court, San Diego, CA 92154. Services include:
- Performing cleaning tasks between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding state holidays).
- Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, sinks, faucets, toilet bowls, and countertops.
- Maintaining a weekly maintenance log confirming scheduled cleaning activities.
- Using appropriate cleaners for various surfaces and ensuring proper disinfection procedures are followed.
- Daily tasks include restocking dispensers, emptying waste receptacles, and thoroughly cleaning restrooms.
- Miscellaneous tasks such as reporting hazardous conditions and maintaining cleanliness in janitor closets.
- The contractor must provide their workers with uniforms that clearly identify their affiliation with the contracting company.

Period of Performance
The contract term is twelve (12) months with an option for the DMV to extend for an additional twelve (12) months. The proposed start date for the contract is July 1, 2025.

The services will be performed at the San Ysidro DMV Field Office located at 6111 Business Center Court, San Diego, CA 92154.
