Background
The Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division (FMD) of the State of California is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Fire and Life Safety Systems maintenance. The FMD is responsible for managing, maintaining, and operating state buildings and grounds statewide. The goal of this contract is to procure services for the maintenance, testing, inspection, monitoring, and repairs of Fire and Life Safety Systems on state property.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, and materials required for Fire and Life Safety System services including: Preventive Maintenance, Monitoring, Testing, Inspection, Repairs, Sprinkler System Tests, Five-Year Testing, and Technical Support Services. Specific tasks include:

- Annual inspections of fire sprinkler systems and alarms;
- Performance testing of fire pumps;
- Daily 24/7 fire alarm monitoring;
- Compliance with NFPA standards;
- Submission of comprehensive reports within 10 business days after inspections.

Services will be performed at the California State Library located at 900 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term for this Agreement is 36 months.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Class C-16 Fire Protection license and a Class C-10 Electrical license issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs. They must also provide proof of insurance including General Liability, Commercial Automobile Insurance, and Worker’s Compensation. Additionally, bidders are required to meet a minimum Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation goal of 3%.
