24-198 Interior Painting Services for Salinas DMV

Background
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking to contract for interior painting and cove base replacement services at the Salinas DMV Field Office. The goal of this contract is to enhance the interior aesthetics and functionality of the DMV office, ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors. The awarded contractor will be responsible for all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to complete the work as specified in the solicitation.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive interior painting services which include:
1. Painting all interior surfaces with an interior grade semi-gloss latex paint.
2. Replacing cove base throughout the building.
3. Removing and remounting signage, bulletin boards, and pictures before and after painting.
4. Patching, prepping, and painting previously painted wall surfaces.
5. Painting hard capped ceilings and replacing any damaged or stained ceiling tiles.
6. Painting restroom stalls and janitor rooms with semi-gloss latex paint.
7. Re-staining or painting all wooden doors.
8. Replacing scratched or graffiti-damaged mirrors in restrooms.
9. Replacing any damaged or missing ceramic tiles in restrooms.
10. Installing new stainless steel kick plates on all interior doors.
11. Sanding smooth or scraping existing window trim, doorframes, handrails before painting.
12. Using ELLIS PRIMER 1262 (or approved equal) on all metal surfaces except galvanized aluminum.
13. Removing wallpaper where present and applying a skim coat before painting.
14. All work must comply with applicable codes and regulations regarding airborne emissions and waste disposal.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term for this contract is thirty (30) calendar days starting from December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Salinas DMV Field Office located at 260 E Laurel Drive, Salinas CA, 93906.
