2026 Vegetation Removal

Work Requested:
The 2026 Vegetation Removal Project involves the removal of vegetation along approximately 29 miles of County roads. Specific areas for vegetation removal are detailed on the Bid Form. All work must be bid as unit prices, and bids must cover all work described unless the Bid Form notes an item as optional.

Who is Requesting:
This solicitation is issued by the Nevada County Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Nevada County Public Works Department.

Background:
This project is identified as County Project No. 715005. The Engineer's Estimate for the contract is $170,000.

Contract Requirements:

• Contractor must possess a CLASS A contractor's license, or a combination of classes required for the work, at the time of bid submission and must remain properly licensed from contract award through contract acceptance (Public Contract Code 10164).
• Work must begin no later than March 30, 2026.
• All work must be completed by June 30, 2026.

Instructions on Submission:

• Sealed bids are due by 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2025.

• Alternatively, documents may be purchased for approximately $50.00 in person at the Purchasing Division, 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City, CA 95959, if arranged and confirmed in advance.
• Questions regarding the work or contract documents must be submitted online via Public Purchase.

Additional Information:
A pre-bid conference or walk-through will not be held. The County will conduct this pre-bid meeting using Microsoft Teams at 2:00 pm, February 2, 2026.
