Background
The Bloomington Animal Shelter project is being developed in the unincorporated community of Bloomington, San Bernardino County, California. The project aims to construct a new animal shelter facility that will serve the local community.

The geotechnical investigation and water infiltration test report prepared by Converse Consultants provides essential data to assist with the design and construction of this facility. The report evaluates subsurface conditions, groundwater levels, and offers recommendations for construction based on the findings.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a 16,000 square foot building that will include various facilities such as animal housing, administration offices, a veterinary care building, an animal intake area, quarantine and isolation facilities, a barn, storage buildings, three stall garages, a power generator building, and an euthanasia building.

Additionally, it includes the installation of a 10-foot-high x 8-inch thick CMU wall along Interstate Freeway 10 (I-10) and an 8-foot-high x 8-inch thick CMU wall along the east and west property lines. Outdoor community event spaces for school groups and tours are also planned.

The scope of work includes geotechnical investigations consisting of subsurface exploration through drilling eight borings to depths ranging from 5 to 50 feet for soil sampling and percolation testing.

Period of Performance
The geotechnical investigation was conducted on December 8, 2022, with laboratory testing following shortly after. The overall timeline for construction is expected to commence following the completion of this report.

The contract work will be performed at the site located at 18313 Valley Boulevard in the Bloomington area of San Bernardino County, California.
