Swimming Pool Cool Deck Resurfacing and Repairs

Background
The City of Mesa, Arizona, is seeking proposals for swimming pool cool deck resurfacing and repair services. This solicitation aims to establish a contract for the maintenance and enhancement of public swimming pool facilities, ensuring they meet safety and aesthetic standards.

The Aquatics Maintenance Department is responsible for overseeing these services to maintain the quality of the city's recreational facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:
1. Resurfacing of pool decks using Multicoat Krete Kote Decking System or an approved equal.
2. Replacement and repair of expansion joint caulk.
3. Concrete crack joint repair.
4. Effective scarification of selected pool deck coating without damaging existing slabs.
5. Thorough cleaning and pressure washing of deck areas before applying new materials.
6. Treatment of cracked areas with epoxy crack treatment as per manufacturer specifications.
7. Removal and replacement of all expansion joints with polyurethane or approved equal material.
8. Cutting and sealing rusted rebar areas before resurfacing.
9. Protection of existing tiles during refurbishment; replacement of any damaged tiles at no extra cost to the City.
10. Application of textured pool deck coating according to manufacturer recommendations.
11. Inspection and replacement of defective expansion joints with matching color sealant, ensuring non-skid properties are maintained.
12. Documentation of all work performed, including location, date, and photographic evidence.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for a term of three (3) years, with the possibility of two (2) one-year renewals based on mutual agreement between the City and the contractor.

Work will be performed at various public swimming aquatic centers in Mesa, Arizona, including but not limited to:

- Kino Jr. High Pool
- Rhodes Jr. High Pool
- Shepherd Jr. High Pool
- Skyline High School Pool
- Stapley Jr. High Pool
