Background
Gilbert Public Schools (GPS), located in Gilbert, Arizona, is seeking the professional services of a qualified executive search firm to assist the Governing Board in conducting a comprehensive national search for the next Superintendent.
The District aims to attract a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates who align with its vision and strategic goals. GPS is committed to providing innovative learning experiences and fostering community engagement, with a focus on continuous improvement.
The anticipated retirement date of the current Superintendent is June 30, 2026, with the selection of the new Superintendent expected in early Spring 2026.

Work Details
The selected firm will be responsible for:
- Conducting public information forums to gather input from stakeholders;
- Developing a detailed recruitment plan;
- Advising on qualifications for the new Superintendent;
- Conducting meetings with the Governing Board;
- Reviewing relevant policies and data;
- Establishing communication protocols;
- Designing a multi-method approach for stakeholder engagement;
- Creating a compelling position description and recruitment materials;
- Managing candidate expectations;
- Facilitating interviews;
- Conducting reference checks;
- Maintaining documentation throughout the process;
- Assisting in contract negotiations; and
- Developing a transition plan for the new Superintendent.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence immediately upon approval and receipt of an authorized purchase order. Key milestones include:
- Formal recruitment posting by October 1, 2025;
- Candidate application due date TBD; and
- Governing Board approval of the selected candidate by January 27, 2026.

Place of Performance
The services will primarily be performed at Gilbert Public Schools' District Administration Complex located at 140 South Gilbert Road, Gilbert, AZ 85296.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in similar large school districts, particularly within the Phoenix metropolitan area. They are required to provide details on past leadership searches completed within seven years, including references from previous contracts. Additionally, firms must disclose any unfavorable terminations or litigation history related to their services.
