Background
The City of Tucson is seeking proposals from qualified offerors for Custodial and Floor Maintenance Services at various locations on an as-needed basis. The goal is to develop a Qualified Vendor List (QVL) for Commercial Custodial Services, which will be utilized by various City departments including the Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), Housing and Community Development (HCD), Environmental Services Department (ES), General Services Department (GSD), and Parks and Recreation Department (PR).
Some facilities may be LEED Certified and must be maintained according to LEED Standards. The contract does not cover residential stock under HCD administration.
Work Details
The contractor will provide custodial services for three office buildings: Santa Rita (42,778 sq ft), Sentinel (14,336 sq ft), and Tucson House Annex (6,480 sq ft). Services include:
- Daily tasks such as emptying trash, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, and collecting trash from all areas.
- Bi-weekly tasks like spot cleaning carpets and vacuuming traffic paths.
- Weekly tasks including placing full trash bins in designated areas, sweeping stairs, and cleaning entrance doors.
- Annual tasks such as steam cleaning carpets and buffing/waxing hard floors.
The contractor must supply all necessary materials including soap, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc. They must ensure custodial closets are clean, respond to complaints promptly, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed Monday through Friday during regular business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding City holidays.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various City-owned buildings in Tucson, Arizona.
Bidder Requirements
Contractors must have a satisfactory performance record and integrity in business ethics. They must not have been suspended or debarred from federal contracts. All personnel must pass a background check conducted by the Tucson Police Department before starting work. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that employees wear identification badges and conduct themselves professionally.
