Background
The State of Alabama, through the Division of Procurement, is issuing a contract for HVAC maintenance services at ALDOT facilities within specified counties. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper maintenance and repair of HVAC systems to support the operational needs of the agency.

Work Details
The contract includes the following services: service calls, labor rates, and service and repair parts with a 15% markup. It does not cover new construction or major renovations exceeding $25,000. The contractor must assist in developing specifications for competitive bids when necessary. All service and repair needs discovered during inspections must be reported to the facility administrator, who will authorize any additional work.

The contractor will invoice in arrears for each service call, itemizing parts, freight, labor, and travel separately. Specific pay items include hourly labor rates for certified HVAC technicians and helpers during regular and overtime hours, as well as special freight reimbursement as described in the contract.

Period of Performance
The contract period is set for 12 months with options to extend for up to four additional 12-month periods upon mutual agreement between the state and the vendor.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various ALDOT facilities located within specified counties in Alabama.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of certification by the State of Alabama Board of Heating and Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. They must also submit a minimum of two commercial references demonstrating at least three years of experience in HVAC services for similar facilities. Additionally, bidders are required to maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum coverage limits of $250,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate, as well as workers' compensation insurance.
