Tuscaloosa Co DHR/Lawn Service

Background
The Tuscaloosa County Department of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking lawn service for its office located at 3716 12th Ave. E., Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This solicitation follows a previous request for quotes where the lowest bidder failed to attend a required site visit, and another bid was deemed excessive. The goal of this contract is to maintain the lawn and surrounding areas of the DHR office during the fiscal year 2025.

Work Details
The vendor shall provide basic lawn services including:

1. Grass Cutting Service: Up to 10 cuts per fiscal year (May 2025 – September 2025), with a schedule coordinated with DHR's point of contact (POC). During the growing season, cuts may be required 2-3 times per month. Each cutting must include:
- Weed eating around shrub beds and cleaning cut areas without damaging shrubs.
- Trimming and spraying around fences, porches, and buildings.
- Edging along sidewalks, walkways, curbs, and parking lots.
- Removing grass/weeds from sidewalks and curbing.
- Blowing grass clippings/leaves from all surfaces including sidewalks and parking lots.
- Fine mulching of leaves on the lawn; any unmulched leaves must be removed from the property.
- Removing trash and debris to ensure a clean area.

2. Shrub/Hedge Trimmings: Limited to two trims per year (one in Spring and one in Fall). Cuttings must be removed from the property after each trim service, with coordination on shape and length with DHR's POC.

Period of Performance
The contract period will run from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025.

Services will be performed at the Tuscaloosa County DHR office located at 3716 12th Ave. E., Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must attend a mandatory site visit on May 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., and sign in to be eligible for consideration. Bidders must also be registered in Alabama Buys to participate in this solicitation.
