Moving services

Background
The Governor's Office of Volunteer Services (GOVS) is seeking bids for moving services to facilitate the relocation of their office. The goal of this contract is to ensure a smooth transition of furniture and supplies from their current locations to a new office space in Montgomery, Alabama. This project is part of the agency's efforts to maintain operational efficiency during the relocation process.

Work Details
The awarded vendor will be responsible for moving all furniture and supplies from two locations:

1) Main office at 401 Adams Avenue, Suite 312 and basement storage, Montgomery, AL 36104
2) Additional furniture location at 445 Dexter Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104

These items will be moved to the new building located at The Bailey Building, 400 S Union St, Montgomery, AL 36104 (3rd floor). The move will take place on May 16 and May 17, 2025. Specific tasks include:
- Pickup of items from both locations on May 16; all furniture at location 2 must be picked up by 5:00 PM.
- Moving all items to the new office location on May 17.
- Breakdown and reinstallation of furniture as needed.
- Transporting two TVs; no other technology items will be moved by the vendor.
- Provision of all necessary transport vehicles, supervised labor, moving carts, dollies, hand trucks, moving vans, drivers, and other materials or equipment necessary for the move.
- All supplies and files will be packed by GOVS staff prior to the move.

Period of Performance
The contract period will cover the dates of May 16 and May 17, 2025 for the actual moving services.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in Montgomery, Alabama at three specified locations:
- Main office (401 Adams Avenue)
- Additional furniture location (445 Dexter Avenue)
- New office location (Bailey Building at 400 S Union St).

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must attend a mandatory site visit on May 13, 2025. Proof of general liability insurance is required with specific minimum coverage amounts:
- General aggregate - $1 million
- Operation aggregate - $1 million
- Bodily injury/property damage - $500,000 per occurrence
- Auto liability - $1 million.
Bidders must also comply with E-Verify requirements for employment verification within Alabama.
