Mental Health Training

Background
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), Office of Health Equity and Minority Health (OHEMH), is seeking proposals to provide comprehensive mental health training. The goal is to equip ADPH staff, community members, and educational institutions, particularly historically black colleges (HBCUs), with the necessary skills to address mental health issues effectively.

This initiative aims to implement a Train-the-Trainer model that allows trained individuals to disseminate knowledge and resources within their communities.

Work Details
The contract requires the following services:
1) Develop a detailed timeline for at least two in-person Mental Health First Aid trainings per eight public health districts, totaling 16 trainings.
2) Train a minimum of 50 individuals to become trainers in Mental Health First Aid.
3) Conduct monthly meetings with partnered HBCU students, including at least two mandatory in-person meetings per HBCU during the project period.
4) Participate in site visits with ADPH staff and monthly meetings with ADPH OHEMH.
5) Provide copies of all paid invoices for reimbursement by the specified deadline.
6) Submit quarterly reports detailing activities and outcomes.

Period of Performance
The anticipated funding period for this contract is from May 1, 2025, to November 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The training will be conducted across various locations in Alabama, specifically targeting public health districts and HBCUs.

Bidder Requirements
Eligible applicants must have an active Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) from SAM.gov, be registered in 'Active' status in the State of Alabama Accounting and Resource System, have previous experience with public health entities, possess relevant educational qualifications (a four-year degree in Psychology or related fields; a master's degree is preferred), hold appropriate counseling licenses (LAPC or CPRP), be a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer with at least three years of experience, and be willing to travel across Alabama.
