Description

The contractor shall perform landscaping repairs to disturbed areas after service line and main break repairs. The work will include clearing the area of rocks, roots and obstructions, grading the area back to original condition before the repair and installing either seed and straw or sod. The seed or sod should match the vegetation prior to the service line or main repair. The water main and service line repairs will be paid a fixed rate based on the type of repair.Additionally, the contractor may be directed to perform landscaping not related to water main or service line repairs. These tasks may include installing rip rap, installing topsoil and removing and disposing of excess borrow and waste material. These tasks will be paid based on unit prices by the hour, square yard, cubic yard or ton.
Background
The Madison County Commission is seeking bids for landscaping repairs for the Madison County Water Department. The goal of this contract is to restore disturbed areas after service line and main break repairs, ensuring that the landscaping matches the original vegetation and meets the standards set forth by the county.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform landscaping repairs to disturbed areas after service line and main break repairs. This includes: clearing the area of rocks, roots, and obstructions; grading the area back to its original condition; and installing either seed and straw or sod that matches the pre-repair vegetation.

Additionally, the contractor may be directed to perform other landscaping tasks not related to water main or service line repairs, such as installing rip rap, topsoil, and removing excess borrow and waste material. These tasks will be compensated based on unit prices determined by the hour, square yard, cubic yard, or ton. The contract is an indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contract with a total value not exceeding $450,000.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is three years from the date of award.

The work will be performed in Madison County, Alabama.

Bidders must possess a valid Alabama General Contractor’s License. They are also required to submit various forms with their bid package including a Bid Form, Bid Bond, Certificate of Compliance Economic Boycotts, Unauthorized Aliens Affidavit, Sworn Affidavit of Employer Regarding Unauthorized Aliens, Sworn Affidavit of Subcontractor Regarding Unauthorized Aliens, E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding, and a Certificate of Insurance.
