Background
The Gulf Coast Engineering Research Station project is initiated by Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. It aims to construct a new facility to support research activities along the Gulf Coast. This facility will enhance the university's capabilities in analytical laboratory research and fieldwork, while also serving as a collaborative space for researchers and community partners.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a 21,000 square foot building organized into two wings: a single-story wing for laboratory and research spaces, and a two-story section for public-facing programs. The building is designed to maximize views of the cove and Gulf while minimizing impact on existing trees. Key functions include:

(a) facilitating analytical laboratory research,
(b) serving as a base camp for fieldwork,
(c) providing presentation and meeting spaces.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be performed from the award date until completion, with bids due by May 1, 2025.

Place of Performance
The construction will take place at City Council Chambers, 4099 Orange Beach Boulevard, Orange Beach, AL 36561.
