Blount Co DHR/Lawn Service

Background
The State of Alabama, through the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer, is seeking lawn service for the Blount County Department of Human Resources (DHR) for the fiscal year 2025. The contract aims to maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of the DHR property located at 55 DHR Lane, Oneonta, Alabama. This solicitation emphasizes compliance with state regulations and requires vendors to attend a mandatory site visit before submitting quotes.

Work Details
The contractor will provide basic lawn services including:

1. Grass Cutting Service: Up to 20 cuts per fiscal year (October 2024 - September 2025), with a schedule coordinated with the DHR County office. During the growing season (Spring and Summer), cutting may be required 2-3 times per month. Each cutting must include:
- Weed eating around shrub beds and cleaning cut areas without damaging shrubs.
- Trimming and spraying around fences, porches, and buildings.
- Edging along sidewalks, walkways, curbs, and parking lots.
- Removing grass/weeds from sidewalks and curbing.
- Blowing grass clippings and leaves from all hard surfaces.
- Fine mulching leaves on the lawn; non-mulched leaves must be removed from the property.
- Removing trash and debris from under trees and throughout the property.

2. Shrub/Hedge Trimmings: Limited to two trims per year (one in Spring and one in Fall). Cuttings must be removed from the property after each trim.

3. Water Retention Area/Ponds: Six cuts during April to September (once per month) for areas with or without water retention. Each cut must include trimming/spraying as necessary.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

Services will be performed at Blount Co DHR located at 55 DHR Lane, Oneonta, Alabama.
