Background
The Alabama Board of Dental Examiners is seeking proposals for the position of Anesthesia Committee Chairperson. This role is crucial for coordinating anesthesia facility inspections and ensuring personnel competency in accordance with state regulations outlined in the Code of Alabama 1975, §34-9-60 et seq. The chairperson will lead a team of qualified anesthesia evaluators to support dentists applying for anesthesia permits and serve as a resource for anesthesia-related inquiries.

Work Details
The selected supplier will be responsible for:

1. Coordinating initial office evaluations and credential reviews for temporary permits for general anesthesia or parenteral sedation in dental offices.

2. Managing on-site inspections necessary for permit issuance.

3. Overseeing re-evaluations or additional inspections as required by law.

4. Serving as an evaluator during inspections or evaluations when needed.

5. Communicating with licensees applying for anesthesia permits.

6. Interacting with the Board to schedule inspections, report results, and attend meetings as requested.

7. Advising the Board on trends or changes in anesthesia policies or procedures.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and is valid for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional years, contingent on performance evaluations and funding availability.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed throughout the State of Alabama, covering various dental facilities requiring anesthesia evaluations.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate qualifications including experience in anesthesia evaluations and facility inspections, knowledge of anesthesia medications, and emergency response procedures. They must also comply with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act by enrolling in E-Verify and providing a Certificate of Compliance prior to contract signing.
