Background
Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) is seeking bids for the procurement of a 36 or 44 passenger Freightliner bus, model year 2025 or 2026. The goal of this contract is to enhance the university's transportation capabilities by acquiring a vehicle that meets specific minimum specifications for passenger transport. Work Details
The contractor will provide either a 36 or 44 passenger Freightliner bus that meets the following specifications:
- **Chassis**: Freightliner M2 Chassis (33,000# GVWR)
- **Engine**: Cummins B6 Diesel Engine (300HP) with 600 lbs. of Torque
- **Dimensions**: 300” Wheelbase, 37’-45’ Body length, and 102” Width
- **Features**:
- Dual rear wheels
- Air brakes
- Dual OEM alternators
- Allison 2500 PTS transmission
- Cruise control
- Tilt steering wheel
- OEM dash AC
- LED interior and exterior lights
- Power locks and windows
- Heated remote mirrors
- Protective rust inhibitor applied underneath the bus.
- **Interior Features**:
- Padded vinyl walls and ceiling
- Restroom facilities
- Dual polished stainless steel grab rails at entry steps
- Coaches conference tables.
- **Seating**:
- Premier air suspension driver and co-pilot seats
- Highback reclining coach seats upholstered in soft touch leatherette.
- **Climate Control**: Provided by a 205,000 BTU rear AC system with dual compressors and integrated heater coils.
- **Safety Features**:
- Back-up camera
- Emergency roof escape hatches
- First aid kit
- Fire extinguisher
- Side view cameras.
- Delivery must occur at Auburn University at Montgomery within six weeks from the date of award.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of six weeks following the award date anticipated on April 10, 2026.

Delivery of the vehicle must be made to Auburn University at Montgomery located at 6461 AUM Drive, Montgomery, AL 36117.

Bidders must certify compliance with Alabama state laws regarding sales tax registration and must not be debarred or suspended from federal contracts. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to utilize small business and small disadvantaged business suppliers in performance of this contract.
