Background
The Department of Rehabilitation Services in the State of Alabama is seeking a bid for an unarmed Security Guard Master Agreement. The contract will involve providing unarmed security guard services at the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services/Tuscaloosa location. The services will include a mandatory pre-bid conference with a site visit, and the contract will be governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.

Work Details
The scope of work involves providing unarmed security guard services at the specified location. This includes one guard to perform duties from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 24-hour coverage on Saturday, Sunday, and State Holidays. The guard will be responsible for observing the exterior of the facility, ensuring all exterior doors are locked and secure, and communicating any issues to ADRS personnel and police if necessary.

The supplier is required to conduct background checks on guards, audit/monitor guards at least twice a month, provide training for guards, and ensure drug and alcohol testing. Additionally, the supplier must provide a replacement or substitute guard when necessary, ensure that guards have necessary equipment such as uniform, flashlight, cell phone with camera capabilities, and notebook/notepad with writing instrument. Special requirements include liability coverage, workman’s compensation coverage, submission of commercial references, and a minimum hourly wage of $15.00 or greater.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from 5/13/24 through 8/31/24 as an emergency procurement. A master agreement is sought to be established that would be renewable on a yearly basis.
