Palmer Courthouse Expansion Design

Background
The Alaska Court System is seeking proposals for the full design of the Palmer Courthouse Expansion. The goal of this project is to provide additional courtroom space, judicial office space, clerk’s office space, and a security screening area. A preliminary design has already been approved by ACS Leadership. The expansion aims to add approximately 30,000 square feet to the existing facility while upgrading site features such as secure parking and landscaping.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Full design services including construction documents and project support.
- Design phases with review periods at 35%, 65%, and 95%.
- Preparation of construction documents for bidding purposes.
- Participation in the bid process and construction administration throughout the project duration.
- Participation in project meetings and assistance with closeout activities.
- Site upgrades including secure parking for judicial officers, public parking enhancements, exterior lighting, and landscaping.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for this multi-year project is November 1, 2024, with a completion date for full design no later than May 15, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Palmer Courthouse located in Palmer, Alaska.
