The State of Alaska, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking to hire a Contractor to replace a 12' x 14' steel roll-up garage door with an overhead steel sectional garage door and door operator located in JBER, AK. The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, materials, licenses, insurance and any travel expenses to complete the work outlined in this IFQ.
Site Visit: A site visit is scheduled on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. Attendees for the site visit are required to contact Esteban Acevedo by phone at 907-552-0086 or via email at esteban.acevedo@us.af.mil two (2) days prior to the scheduled site visit so arrangements may be made for a base pass. Deadline for Receipt of Quote Submittal. Current deadline for receipt of quote submittals in response to the subject IFQ is 2:00 P.M. Alaska time on June 24, 2025. Information on submitting quotes can be found in the attached IFQ. Late offers will be rejected.

Background
The State of Alaska, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking to hire a contractor for the replacement of a steel roll-up garage door at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska. This project aims to enhance the functionality and security of the facility by replacing an existing 12’ x 14’ steel roll-up door with a new overhead steel sectional garage door and operator. The DMVA's mission includes providing support to military and veteran communities, aligning this contract with their operational needs.
Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, equipment, materials, licenses, insurance, and travel expenses necessary for the completion of the work. The scope includes:
- Removal of the existing steel roll-up door assembly and door operator.
- Installation of a new insulated steel sectional overhead door with dimensions similar to the existing one.
- Installation of a new door operator and all necessary components for full functionality.
- Reconnection of the operator to the existing door opener.
- Full functionality testing of the new door system before returning it to building users.
- Proper disposal of all demolished equipment and materials.
- Provision of an Operations and Maintenance Manual for the new equipment along with warranty information prior to final payment.
Period of Performance
The project must be completed no later than 30 days after the award date, which is expected shortly after June 18, 2025.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), specifically at Building 15439 located at 15439 Airlifter Dr., JBER, AK 99506.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a current Alaska business license and are encouraged to claim Alaska Bidder Preference if applicable. They must also comply with insurance requirements including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile Liability insurance. No bonding is required for this project.
