Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Consulting

Background
The State of Alaska Department of Health, Division of Public Health is seeking a contractor to lead efforts to establish and sustain a statewide healthcare-acquired infection advisory committee.

The contractor will facilitate statewide antimicrobial stewardship initiatives and provide ad-hoc infection prevention and control guidance. This initiative aims to enhance the state's capabilities in managing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial-resistant pathogens.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following:
1. Revamping and relaunching the Alaska Division of Public’s Healthcare-Associated Infections Advisory Committee (AK-ICPAC) to increase engagement from external partners regarding HAI prevention and containment strategies.
2. Conducting antimicrobial stewardship outreach activities, including targeted outreach to high-volume prescribers and conducting assessment modules as part of the Infection Control Assessment and Response (ICAR) program.
3. Providing ad-hoc outbreak response guidance for multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs) and non-MDRO healthcare-acquired infections, enhancing the capacity to respond effectively to outbreaks in healthcare facilities across Alaska.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and last for approximately eighteen (18) months, with one optional one-year renewal at the discretion of the state.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in various locations across Alaska, with no specific workspace provided by the state; contractors must provide their own workspace.
