School District Of Philadelphia has received a grant to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of low-income children, including those on federally recognized reservations and children of migratory farm workers. The grant supports the provision of comprehensive health, educational, nutritional, social, and other services. It also aims to involve parents in their children's learning and help parents progress toward their educational, literacy, and employment goals. Through Early Head Start programming, the grant focuses on the development of infants and toddlers, enabling parents to fulfill their roles while moving toward self-sufficiency. The programs promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development through safe and developmentally enriching caregiving, preparing children for continued growth and success in school and life. Additionally, the grant supports a three-tier training and technical assistance system (national, regional, and local) to expand staff qualifications and improve management systems and learning environments.
