Head Start and Early Head Start Program Support

State: Florida • Source: Federal Grant Received

Description

Office of Head Start has recently awarded a grant through Head Start that may result in future contract opportunities or awards to complete

The School Board Of Broward County, Florida has received a grant to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of low-income children, including those on federally recognized reservations and children of migratory farm workers. This is achieved through the provision of comprehensive health, educational, nutritional, social, and other services. The grant also supports parental involvement in their children's learning and helps parents progress toward their educational, literacy, and employment goals. Additionally, the grant supports Early Head Start programming focused on the development of infants and toddlers through safe and developmentally enriching caregiving, preparing them for continued growth and success in school and life. To meet these objectives, the grant funds a three-tier training and technical assistance system at national, regional, and local levels to expand staff qualifications and improve management systems and learning environments.
