Window Rock Unified School District 8 has received a grant to address the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of Indian students, enabling them to meet challenging state performance standards. The grant supports efforts to ensure that Indian students gain knowledge and understanding of Native communities, languages, Tribal histories, traditions, and cultures. Additionally, it aims to equip teachers, principals, school leaders, and other staff serving Indian students with the skills to provide culturally appropriate and effective instruction. This program serves as the Department's principal vehicle for addressing the particular needs of Indian children.
