Wright Tool Co. LLC of Warren, Michigan, won a $9.7 million Army contract to procure Standard Automotive Tool Set (SATS) Base in Mobile systems. The firm-fixed-price award, issued by Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal, covers work in Warren and has an estimated completion date of March 2, 2027. The mobile tool sets support the Army’s field-maintenance needs.

Standard Automotive Tool Set Base in Mobile Details

Wright Tool will provide the base-in-mobile configuration of SATS, a standardized tool set used for equipment maintenance. The award notice identifies the item being procured but does not describe its contents or state how many systems the contract will deliver. An Army logistics account of SATS describes the effort as a way to standardize tools selected for Army maintainers.

Mobile sets place maintenance equipment with units operating away from fixed repair facilities. A 2025 Army HIMARS equipment checklist identifies one mobile SATS per battalion to support maintenance of launchers, Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles trucks and High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles. That checklist illustrates a field use for mobile SATS; the award notice does not assign Wright Tool’s systems to HIMARS units.

Award and Contractor Background

The Army received five bids for the contract. The award notice identifies Wright Tool’s performance location as Warren, Michigan. Separately, the Army’s 2027 procurement budget request lists 28 SATS units and $9.4 million under Mobile Maintenance Equipment Systems. That program-level request does not establish the quantity covered by Wright Tool’s award.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under W912CH26CA092 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
