VWR Wins $50 Million DLA Laboratory Electronic Catalog Contract

VWR International LLC of Radnor, Pennsylvania, has been added to a Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support multiple-award contract for laboratory equipment, accessories and consumables sold through the agency’s Electronic Catalog. VWR’s fixed-price contract has a maximum value of $49.5 million and an ordering period ending October 21, 2031. The catalog serves the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. VWR’s award was announced as an addition to a contract first awarded in February 2023, according to the award notice.

Medical Electronic Catalog Details

VWR will supply laboratory items through DLA’s Electronic Catalog, which allows authorized customers to search commercial product catalogs and place orders with contracted suppliers. The award covers equipment, accessories and consumables rather than a fixed purchase of a particular product. DLA’s medical acquisition guide identifies laboratory items as one of the product categories available through the catalog.

The Electronic Catalog handles ordering steps from product search and approval through receipt and payment, according to DLA’s February 2026 commodity guide. DLA describes catalog prices as negotiated, delivered prices that account for transportation and distribution. VWR’s contract gives eligible customers another source for laboratory products within that purchasing system; individual orders will determine what products are bought and in what quantities.

Award and Contractor Background

The laboratory catalog solicitation drew 41 offers. VWR joins a multiple-award contract originally awarded on February 24, 2023, rather than receiving an exclusive arrangement to supply all laboratory items through the catalog. DLA’s 2021 annual history records another laboratory catalog award: a five-year contract worth up to $48.75 million awarded to Abbott Rapid, doing business as Alere, in February 2021.
