The Marine Corps Systems Command has awarded a contract for Multi-Function Electronic Warfare (MFEW) Family of Systems (FoS) support to Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), valued at $30.6 million over five years. The hybrid indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract will be performed in Sparks, Nevada, and was awarded on a sole-source basis.

Work to be Completed Under Multi-Function Electronic Warfare Contract

According to a pre-solicitation synopsis, this contract will provide critical maintenance and repair services, procurement of spare parts, delivery of additional and replacement MFEW systems, and engineering support for the Marine Corps’ electronic warfare capabilities. These services are essential to ensure the ongoing sustainment and operational readiness of the MFEW Family of Systems.

The work under this contract includes:

  • Procurement of spare parts for new and upgraded MFEW FoS inventory
  • Maintenance and repair services for existing MFEW systems
  • Provision of replacement and additional SNC-produced MFEW systems
  • Engineering support services for system sustainment and upgrades

The Marine Corps determined that Sierra Nevada Corporation is uniquely qualified to perform these tasks due to its exclusive access to the technical data and software required for effective sustainment and engineering support. The government lacks the necessary technical data rights to allow other vendors to perform these services.

This contract is structured as a hybrid Cost Plus Fixed Fee/Firm Fixed Price IDIQ with a five-year ordering period. The initial task order obligated $0.5 million in operation and maintenance funds at the time of award. The total maximum value of the contract is $30.6 million, with orders placed as needed throughout the period of performance.

For more information on the contract background and requirements, the government’s official synopsis can be found in this synopsis.

This award was disclosed by the DoD in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov once disclosed by the government in approximately 90 days under M6785425D2056 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
