Serco Inc. of Herndon, Virginia, won a sole-source Air Force contract for technical analytics and transition support at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The contract has a ceiling of $49 million and is intended to deliver Small Business Innovation Research technologies that improve the speed, rigor and scale of acquisitions across weapon systems. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded the contract on Oct. 1, 2026, and expects work to be completed by Sept. 30, 2028.

Technical Analytics and Transition Support Details

Serco will provide technical analytics and transition support for the Air Force’s effort to move small-business research technologies into weapon-system acquisition. The award notice describes the intended result—faster, more rigorous acquisition at greater scale across weapon systems—but does not identify particular technologies, deliverables or weapon systems covered by the work.

The work will take place at Eglin, where the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Armament Directorate manages aerial-delivered weapons and armaments, according to an Eglin Air Force Base fact sheet. In the broader Small Business Innovation Research program, transitioning a technology means moving beyond research toward a government customer or follow-on use; an Air Force Research Laboratory program overview describes such follow-on work as a distinct stage of the innovation pipeline.

Award and Contractor Background

The award included an initial delivery order worth $1.33 million under the $49 million contract ceiling. It was a sole-source acquisition, rather than a competition among offerors. Separately, Serco holds a Navy submarine-acquisition support order with a potential value of $432 million through July 2027; that work includes program management and technical and engineering management for submarine program offices.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under FA868127DB001, FA868127FB004 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
