Sealaska Constructors LLC of Seattle won a $16 million firm-fixed-price contract to construct a fire station bay storage area at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Seattle District awarded the small-business set-aside contract after receiving three bids. Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 22, 2028.

Fire Station Bay Storage Area Details

Sealaska will construct the fire station bay storage area at Malmstrom. The available award description identifies the facility work but does not set out its bay count, storage capacity or construction specifications.

The project supports an installation where the 341st Civil Engineer Squadron is responsible for fire protection. Its Fire Emergency Services Flight serves the base and the 341st Missile Wing’s geographically dispersed mission, according to the Air Force’s mission-support fact sheet. In a 2015 account, the Air Force described crews responding to fires, hazardous-material releases, medical emergencies and rescues.

Award and Contractor Background

The fire station bay storage project was authorized at $15.5 million for fiscal 2024 and reauthorized at $23.9 million for fiscal 2025, according to a Defense Department report on unawarded military construction projects. Those figures are project authorizations, rather than earlier construction awards or amounts spent. The report listed the project as unawarded at the time of its fiscal 2025 second-quarter review.

Sealaska has received other construction work from the Corps’ Seattle District, including a $10.4 million award to repair HVAC systems in two buildings and a $3.4 million award for building and electrical upgrades. Their scheduled completion dates are October and September 2026, respectively.
