Sanofi Vaccines US Inc. of Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, has been added as an awardee to a Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support multiple-award contract for various pharmaceuticals. The award is valued at $19.4 million. DLA Troop Support in Philadelphia is the contracting activity. The notice identifies the broad pharmaceutical contract but does not tie Sanofi’s award to a particular vaccine or other product.

Pharmaceuticals Contract Details

Sanofi’s award is under a pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution solicitation for a multiple-award contract first awarded in November 2016. The award notice describes the contract’s scope as various pharmaceuticals; it does not identify quantities, delivery locations or product-specific work for Sanofi.

DLA’s Medical supply chain procures pharmaceuticals and vaccines for military customers, including service members and their dependents worldwide and the Navy fleet. The agency uses several acquisition routes for those supplies. This award adds Sanofi to the older multiple-award contract, rather than identifying a purchase through DLA’s separate pharmaceutical prime-vendor program.

Award and Contractor Background

The underlying multiple-award contract was awarded Nov. 15, 2016. Sanofi also has documented DLA Troop Support Medical influenza-vaccine work valued at up to $3.0 million and another order valued at up to $2.9 million, both with potential performance ending in September 2026. Those orders establish the company’s other DLA pharmaceutical-supply work but do not identify the products covered by the new award.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under SPE2D027D0001 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
