Rosemount Aerospace Wins $10 Million Contract for B-2 Pressure Transmitters

Rosemount Aerospace of Burnsville, Minnesota, has received a three-year, firm-fixed-price contract worth up to $9.8 million to supply pressure transmitter units for the Air Force’s B-2 Spirit bomber. Defense Logistics Agency Aviation awarded the sole-source contract for a fixed quantity of units identified under multiple stock numbers. Performance is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2029.

B-2 Pressure Transmitter Details

Rosemount will supply 624 pressure transmitter units under the pressure transmitter procurement. The acquisition justification describes a fixed-quantity purchase covering multiple stock numbers and associated part numbers. The award is for aircraft components rather than an aircraft-wide maintenance or modernization effort.

The justification says the government lacks the drawings needed to develop a competitive description for the parts and that reverse engineering is not feasible. It identifies Rosemount as the only known source capable of supplying the required units. The documents do not identify the B-2 systems in which the transmitters are installed.

B-2 Sustainment Background

The B-2 Spirit remains part of the Air Force’s long-range bomber force. The Defense Department’s FY2026 budget overview describes a plan to sustain the B-2 until divestiture while investing in the B-21. The transmitter purchase is a component-level supply action during that transition.

The Air Force is also continuing B-2 modernization. Its FY2027 aircraft procurement justification says the bomber’s Advanced Communications effort reached Milestone C in January 2026, with production installations beginning in FY2026. Separately, a May 2024 award gave Northrop Grumman a contract with a $7 billion ceiling for B-2 modernization and sustainment, including engineering, software maintenance, logistics and depot work.

Award and Contractor Background

The award notice identifies this as a noncompetitive acquisition. According to the acquisition justification, no sources responded to a December 2025 notice seeking potential suppliers, and subsequent market research found no reasonable expectation of competing priced offers.

Rosemount has received other awards for B-2 components, including an antenna-coupler contract with a potential value of $15.5 million and performance extending to May 2027, and a high-frequency receiver/transmitter contract worth up to $6.7 million with performance extending to May 2026. Those awards cover different B-2 parts from the pressure transmitters in the new purchase.
